Welcome

Hello and welcome! My name is Abigail Wood, and I’m excited to share my passion for teaching and learning with your family. After 7 years as a Special Education teacher and earning my degree from Texas A&M in Educational Psychology (Special Education), I’ve developed the expertise to help students thrive—especially those with unique learning needs.

My commitment to student success is backed by specialist training, including: Dyslexia (Reading by Design), Dysgraphia (Writing without Tears), Epilepsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, and general certifications in Special Education EC-12 and General Education EC-6.

As a wife, a mom to two beautiful children, and owner of a forever pup, I understand the commitment and challenges of raising a family. I’m excited to offer:

  • Personalized Small Group Tutoring for students in 1st through 6th grade.
  • Special Education Consulting to demystify complex paperwork. I’ll help you understand how your student’s goals and accommodations work and provide you with concrete tools to implement them and monitor progress at home.

Mission

My mission is to provide specialized, evidence-based tutoring for students in grades 1-6, coupled with clarity-driven parent consulting. I am dedicated to demystifying the special education process, empowering families with the knowledge to implement effective strategies at home, and fostering a confident partnership that ensures every student achieves independence and academic success.

My Services

Tutoring Service:

specialized, evidence-based tutoring
Assistance with homework, accelerated reading (AR) support, organization skills, individualized education plan (IEP) goal tracking

Tutoring class sizes are limited to a maximum of 6 students per session in order to provide each student with ample individualized attention.

Requests for individual student sessions can be made by emailing me (different rates apply for individual sessions).

Special Education Liaison:

clarity-driven consulting with parents; demystifying the special education process
Assistance with understanding admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) paperwork, provide data tested by myself for student IEP goals, provide preparations for ARD meetings

My goal is to have my students and their families have a deeper grasp of special education and how it can best assist their students while providing the best set of skills to build confidence in everyone’s social and academic knowledge.

We offer flexible scheduling based on your commitment level: Month-to-Month, Semester, or the full School Year. Packages are paid upfront, with payment plans available.

📅 Plan 1: Month-to-Month (4-Week Cycle)

This plan offers maximum flexibility with a monthly commitment. Up to 1 unused session will roll over to the next month.

📚 Plan 2: Semester Commitment
